Man and the environment should be living in harmony and man should depend on the environment for survival in a more sustainable way for the present and future generations. However, this has not been the case given the global increase in population that has led to many natural forests and wetland areas being cleared for farming, industrial establishments, settlement and lumbering to meet the daily demands for food, goods and services for the global population. The destructive human activities deforestation, swamp reclamation, use of chemical fertilizers, increased transport traffic and industries on the environment have increased green house gases such carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone, hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) paving way to climate change and global warming. URUDO-Uganda through established community tree nursery beds gives households tree seedlings to plant at subsidized costs to increase tree population in the already tree depleted areas to avert the pending catastrophic climatic change disasters like drought and subsequent famine and death. The planted trees absorb the green house gases thus posing less dangers to the atmosphere and the ozone layer hence limiting climate change and global warming. As our motto: “a safe environment, saves life.”
